Almeco participated in the realization of various cryogenic liquid evaporators for two international gas producers. During emergency situations, they bring liquids safely back into the atmosphere.
Citrique Belge in Tienen is one of the largest citric acid producers in the world. As a part of their Triple P programme, Citrique Belge also devotes extra attention to the relationship with the environment. When a small number of people living in the vicinity pointed out an annoying noise that was sometimes produced by a number of cooling towers, Citrique Belge decided to investigate how this situation could be rectified.
During the construction of a new production line in 2012, Almeco was closely involved with the development of process cooling. In 2013 we supplied an open cooling tower for cooling 120 m³/hour from 47.9°C to 28.3°C at a wet bulb temperature of 20 °C (discharged cooling capacity 2,734 kW).
An oil refinery from the Port of Antwerp asked us if it would be possible to adapt their counterflow cooling tower with axial suction fans so it could still cool the same water flow rate, but to a lower cold water temperature. The cooling tower consists of six cells.
One of the longest indoor karting tracks in the world is located in the industrial park of Eupen. Since safety is their top priority, Karting Eupen was looking for an efficient ventilation system to prevent CO-poisoning by exhaust gases.
Almeco has provided Flanders’ Bike Valley with 4 fans diameter 1800mm and an available power of 180kW. The fans are part of a wind tunnel that is used for the testing of bicycles.
We were asked by a Rotterdam vegetable oil refinery to replace a fan of a Polacel cooling tower. The existing fan was a 14-foot fan with aluminium blades.
Our client realizes custom-made containers. These containers contain an electric generator that is driven by a diesel engine. The cooling of the container is crucial for the proper functioning of the machines. Therefore, the manufacturer relied on Almeco for the supply of two fans of type AVK1000 in Atex execution.
